This has been my night and morning.
iMessage decided last night to randomly select texts to not send to me, then slowly release them to me hours later.
I discovered this when my son called demanding to know why I had not responded to his emoji art. Which I still have not received.
It got me wondering what would happen if iMessage just died. Well, to be fair, it’s been in some stage of death on my phone for many months.
But what if it just went away?
I wonder because it is the LAST FUCKING THING THAT HAS ANY APPLE-EXCLUSIVE VALUE ON THIS PIECE OF SHIT PHONE.
I think iMessage’s death, or the death of cellular data in general, would be the scene from WALL•E where the chairs stop working or whatever, and people notice there are other people and things to look at.
This isn’t a manifesto, or even the beginning of one, but I have for a few months been shoving this shit out of my life and actually living.
I’m glad it’s helping me leave it.

I am really loving what the folks at Branch have done.
This place is really well-made for actual conversations. Imagine forums, but forums that have been doping.
The highlighting feature alone (click a sentence and a little option pops up to highlight it and come back to it) makes me want to make out with this site.
Good work, Branch.
Faetrouble made a Branch group for people to discuss Find the Starlight, and it looks really promising in terms of making scattered conversations readable and useable. Which this needs.

About

Creator of Find the Starlight and SUPERFIGHT! .

I got angry about a burrito once.

I make stuff and teach stuff and I'm a single dad and I don't know what the hell is going on.

I'm also an idiot on twitter.
