Here’s the thing about Bob Schneider:
No song this man ever writes stays put. He doesn’t treat his songs like bricks in some wall he’s building. He changes them. Constantly. Sometimes unrecognizably. Here he is covering his own song (which I posted a couple days ago), and making it an entirely different song. Because that’s what he does.
There are so many other qualities I love about this man’s approach to his work. He’s funny. Very funny. He just talks in the middle of songs to the audience and about the songs and as Christopher Walken and sometimes as a Batman who is just going to go ahead and go train-of-thought on this story he wants to tell.
And I love that all of this sounds like it should be horrible. But it’s amazing. Because if you want songs that don’t change, just buy an album. But if you want to watch a man be amazing at relentlessly creating, go see a Bob Schneider show.
