Stepdad - Pick and Choose

So one night I went to The Satellite to see these guys. And I knew nothing about them. And there they were doing their thing, and I could tell right away I had screwed up. Because god damn did I love them, and instead of watching them kick my ass with songs I already loved, I was watching like a stupid fetus baby who didn’t know which way each song would go. 

They finished their set, and I ended up outside with them and a friend who was talking to them about band shit that has nothing to do with me. Then they asked us to join them at a pool party in the hills. Then they asked us to drive their tour van because they were drunk. Then we ended up in Rocco De Luca’s living room at 3 in the morning talking about how they had to leave for San Francisco in four hours.

And I told their singer and drummer that I could tell they were going to become one of my favorite new bands.

And I was right.
