Star Wars in the Style of the Film Trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness

This video really gets to the heart of things with me.

When the Jar Jar Wars movies came out, what I was most disappointed in was the fact that they didn’t take advantage of the fact that this universe contained so many characters I cared about. Characters I grew up caring about. And stories I wanted to hear.

As I have said before, that is what people want from this stuff. They want to care and to feel something.

But I didn’t. At all.

Luke’s father lay burning on a hill, screaming in rage at his mentor and companion.

And I could not have cared less. It was the scene I waited for for so many years, and it was ridiculous. In so many ways.

And here comes someone recutting the original films into a new trailer, and reminding us that this well is far from dry.

That this world and everyone in it has a chance to get mindblowingly unfucked.

If someone on this project with any sort of pull over these things remembers what it was like to care about these characters.

Fingers crossed.
